When Succession Leads to Frustration

They may be just weeds, but to you they’re a never-ending source of frustration. Whether they’re the only blemish marring your perfectly manicured lawn, or they are so plentiful you can’t see past them to the beauty, weeds can be incredibly frustrating for homeowners. Especially when we tell them that for the time being, there’s not a lot that can be done about them, even if other lawn care companies are telling them differently.

This happens sometimes when a lawn is going through succession. We’ve talked about succession a lot here on our blog, and we talk about it a lot with homeowners and other clients. Just like people have to go through a succession in their lives (from birth all the way until the time they pass away), lawns too have to go through the same kind of succession. And when weeds appear, it’s because that lawn is currently in succession.

Consider when you get sick. It’s a disturbance in your life, and while you recover, you may take medication to treat it. While this medication may be making you better, you’re still not the picture of health just yet. When you see weeds, your lawn is going through exactly the same thing. And while it might not yet be picture perfect, the weeds are just one phase – or the medication – your lawn needs to go through.

At Stangl’s, we know how frustrating this can be. And we empathize with homeowners that are currently going through it. But while we might be limited in what we can do, it’s not exactly true that there’s nothing we can do.

We use compost, known as our Nature’s Compost that can help lawns move through succession more quickly to get back to the lush green space homeowners are looking for. It’s a completely natural and safe product that doesn’t contain any chemicals or toxins. We’re the only lawn care company to use it, which is why other companies may be able to promise better results sooner.

But those results aren’t really better. They contain herbicides and pesticides that are literally killing the people enjoying those same lawns. Don’t believe us? Do a quick Google search, or read up on the research we’ve collected on Monsanto’s Roundup. The company currently has over 800 lawsuits against it due to hundreds of people becoming sick, sometimes with the worst of diseases such as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

We know how frustrating it can be to see weeds, especially when you’ve spent all summer trying to take such great care of your lawn. But the truth is you can only take care of it by allowing it to be a lawn. And at Stangl’s, we can help you do it. Call us today for a free quote to learn how.
